vipNYCBruncher (New York Area)·Dined on November 20, 2016Spice Kitchen was a nice surprise. It was our first time visiting the restaurant. Very nice decor and the service was very attentive. We had a party of 4 in a large booth, which gave us lots of room for glasses, plates, serving dishes, and to be comfortable. Even better was the food. I can't say anything was bad. It was all good and decent entree portions were provided. I would suggest a larger portion for the wing appetizer. It was basically two chicken which they split for four pieces. I think for price they could have provided 3 or 4 full wings; for a total of 6 to 8 pieces. Was this review useful to you?Yes·No·Reportfood5ambience4service4value4

vipBettinaV (New York Area)·Dined on February 21, 2016My husband and I read a good review of Spice Kitchen, and decided to give it a try. The food was indeed quite good. But we waited well over an hour to receive even an appetizer–we didn't eat until around 9:30 p.m., at which point we were starving. There are other restaurants serving this type of food that may not be quite as good, but have kitchens that are far better at sending out orders in a timely fashion. Even though we eventually enjoyed our meal, I doubt we'll be back. Was this review useful to you?Yes·No·Reportfood4ambience4service1value3

BrunchLover (Miami)·Dined on February 15, 2016My husband and I have been looking for a great Indian restaurant for awhile. We used to live in Stamford, which had fair access to Indian restaurants locally and in and around Norwalk. There are a few that are good, but not great. We read some reviews on this one and took a shot since they were slightly mixed, probably because they're very new and it takes time to work out the kinks. We are so glad we did! We went for Valentine's Day and had an amazing time. The service was perfect. They even gave me a rose when we arrived, which was a very sweet touch. The food was seasoned so well and they don't use the same curry base for multiple dishes, which we've noticed at one particular popular Indian restaurant that has a few with the same name. The naan was fresh, and they didn't serve old naan, which we've also experienced at the same aforementioned “popular” place. Spice Kitchen's wait staff were all responsive and helpful. Everyone was very genuine. The food was really great. My husband (who is originally from India) said that the daal tasted like it did at home, which is something he hasn't seen from a restaurant here in a very long time. The paneer was also fresh and seasoned well. And the lassi was spot on. We can't say enough about this place and absolutely cannot wait to go back here. We loved it!Tags: Fit for Foodies, Neighborhood Gem, Romantic, Special Occasion1 person found this review helpful. Was this review useful to you?Yes·No·Reportfood5ambience4service5value5
